Kristin NeffThe pioneering researcher and author of Self-Compassion, Dr. Kristin Neff, is joining us this week and explains why its OK (and very important) to accept our faults and to be kind to ourselves.

While doing her post-doctoral work, Dr. Kristin Neff decided to conduct research on self-compassion, a central construct in Buddhist psychology and one that had not yet been examined empirically. She shows how self-compassion is important because research is showing over and over that it’s very strongly associated with less depression, less anxiety, more happiness, more optimism, more motivation to learn and try out new things, and it’s a very powerful way of relating to ourselves and the world around us.


Meet Dr. Kristin Neff

Kristin Neff is currently an Associate Professor of Educational Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin. She is a pioneer in the field of self-compassion research, conducting the first empirical studies on self-compassion over a decade ago. In addition to writing numerous academic articles and book chapters on the topic, she is author of the book “Self-Compassion: The Proven Power of Being Kind to Yourself,” released by William Morrow, and the 6 CD audio set called “Self-Compassion Step by Step,” released by Sounds True.  In conjunction with her colleague Dr. Chris Germer, she has developed an empirically supported eight-week training program called Mindful Self-Compassion, and offers workshops on self-compassion worldwide.  Kristin is also featured in the bestselling book and award-winning documentary The Horse Boy, which chronicles her family’s journey to Mongolia where they trekked on horseback to find healing for her autistic son.

Meet Kevin Gianni

Kevin Gianni seriously started researching personal and preventative natural health therapies in 2002 when he was struck with the reality that cancer ran deep in his family and if he didn’t change the way he was living, he might go down that same path. Since then, he’s written and self-published six books on natural health, diet, and fitness, produced over 900 YouTube videos with over 10 million views and has published hundreds of articles.

He’s experimented with many diets and medical protocols to differentiate myth from reality. Kevin has also traveled around the world searching for the best foods, medicines and clinics to introduce them to the readers of the blog he co-founded — RenegadeHealth.com — which is one of the most widely read natural health blogs in the world with hundreds of thousands of visitors a month from over 150 countries around the world. Dr. Bruce LiptonWhat would your life be like if you knew that you are more powerful than you have ever been taught? What thoughts would you change if you knew that they have the power to change your biology?

Dr. Bruce Lipton is a renowned biologist with a revolutionary view on genetics and consciousness. In this interview he shares what the latest research is showing us about our cells and identity; he offers vast insight into the conscious mind, unconscious mind and subconscious programming and shares his perspective on how we can indeed create Heaven on Earth.

In our discussion, we bring up topics around the biology of belief and the fact that 95% of our day is run by subconscious programming of our past. Dr. Lipton also shows us how we can change this programming and not fall victims to our genetics; he shows us how we can change our beliefs and perceptions and as a result change our health.


Meet Dr. Bruce Lipton

Bruce H. Lipton, scientist and lecturer, received his Ph.D. at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville (1971). He served as an Associate Professor of Anatomy at the University of Wisconsin’s School of Medicine. Lipton’s research on mechanisms controlling cell behaviour employed cloned human stem cells. In addition, he lectured in Cell Biology, Histology and Embryology. 

Bruce resigned his tenured position to pursue independent research integrating quantum physics with cell biology. His breakthrough studies on the cell membrane, the “skin” of the cell, revealed that the behaviour and health of the cell was controlled by the environment, findings that were in direct contrast with prevailing dogma that life is controlled by genes. 

Lipton returned to academia as a Research Fellow at Stanford University’s School of Medicine to test his hypotheses (1987-1992).  His ideas concerning environmental control were substantiated in two major scientific publications. The new research revealed the biochemical pathways connecting the mind and body and provided insight into the molecular basis of consciousness and the future of human evolution.

Bruce has taken his award-winning medical school lectures to the public and is currently a popular keynote speaker and workshop presenter on topics of conscious parenting and the science of complementary medicine.
